Development Module - Online

The Online Development Coach Module is split over 4 weeks, looking specifically at components around providing for a development rower.

Coaches working with development athletes are expected to have completed the Boat Safety Certificate. The New Coach Award is not a pre-requisite for this module but it is beneficial if coaches have a form of prior learning and coaching experience.

The course will cover three main topic areas:

1.The coaching process looking at athlete-centered coaching skill

2.Sports science focusing on strength and conditioning needs, training programs and periodisation

3.Technique and how athletes acquire the skill.

Follow up:

Coaches on this course will also be invited to attend a follow-up course at a time determined by the facilitator and coaches at the time of the course. This follow-up will take approximately 1 hour and is a chance to re-group, ask questions, discuss issues, and go deeper into some topic areas covered off earlier.

Once the workshop has been completed the coach will have access to the extension modules.

Places are currently limited to 12 Participants. The presenters will be Rowing New Zealand's Coach developer Duncan Holland and Jared Cummings
