Auckland Rowing Club’s 150th Anniversary

  • 09 Oct 19

Formed in December 1869, The Auckland Rowing Club (ARC) will celebrate their 150th anniversary in 2019.

Auckland Rowing Club invite members of the New Zealand rowing community to celebrate the history of the club and plans for their future over a weekend of activity in November 2019.

Friday 8 November 2019 - Hanging of the Henley Four

An Auckland Rowing Club crew made up of Darien Boswell, Alistair Dryden, Peter Masfen, Dudley Storey and Bob Page (coxswain) won the inaugural Prince Phillip Challenge Cup at Henley in 1963. The boat raced by the crew was brought back to New Zealand. It has been lovingly restored by current members of the ARC.

Join ARC at this event to celebrate the Henley Four's achievements, watch the restored boat be hung in the ceiling of the clubhouse and mix and mingle with current and past members. New Zealand Rowing Foundation Legacy Medals will also be presented at this event.

Tickets can be purchased through www.eventbrite.co.nz

Saturday 9 November 2019 - Celebration Dinner
