Under 21s Take on Trans-Tasman
The New Zealand Under 21 team are gearing up for part one of their Trans-Tasman clash in Sydney, Australia.
The team, who have been based at Karapiro since the end of last week, have been putting in the hard yards on the water and testing out their speed against other Rowing New Zealand age group teams. They fly out on Monday before racing kicks off on Thursday 29th June at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.
The three day regatta sees the Trans-Tasman rivals battle it out for the Rusty Robertson Trophy, which is currently held by Australia.
Athletes will compete in a variety of boat classes with sweep and sculling groups later combining to form eights.
Points for racing will be awarded in the finals as follows:
1. 1st - 6 points, 2nd - 4 points, 3rd - 2 points, 4th - 1 point for W1x, M1x, W2-, M2-
2. 1st - 6 points, 2nd - 4 points for LM2x, LW2x, M4-, W4-, M8+, W8+
3. 1st - 2 points and 2nd - 1 point for LW1x, LM1x, MixL2x
