Re-registering Rowers for the 2020/21 Season

Rowing NZ’s membership database is now available to re-register rowers for the 2020/21 season.

As agreed at the 2020 Rowing NZ AGM, the annual competition licence fees have been reduced by 50% for the 2020/21 season. As such, the annual competition licence fee will be invoiced at $80 + GST per licence, with a rebate of $40 + GST per licence provided by Rowing NZ.

From the 2020/2021 season (season now commencing), Rowing NZ will no longer issue credits to clubs for athletes incorrectly licenced. To avoid paying license fees for coaches and other individuals not intending to race at licensable regattas - and for anyone licensed multiple times in error - all clubs must carefully consider which individuals they licence. All individuals a club registers for a license will incur a license fee, payable by the club.

No credits will be issued for license fees moving forward, and it remains the club’s responsibility to ensure they are licensing individuals correctly. Clubs may licence rowers at a later date if an individual’s intentions change.

Re-Classification by Application to NZRA

After the conclusion of the 2020 NZRA AGM, 2020/2021 Classifications have now been applied.

Under their Competitor Profile on RowIT, rowers can now find their current classification and the classification they will move to for the 2020/21 season (due to begin on 1 September).

Club officials holding RowIT club administrator access will also be able to view their member’s classifications under the 2020/21 NZRA Grades tab within their roster maintenance.

Under Rowing NZ Rules of Racing, there is an opportunity to apply for re-classification by application. Should a rower seek a re-classification for the 2020/21 season, they must complete an application form available on the Rowing NZ website.

Re-classification applications will be considered by a panel established by Rowing NZ. This will first be undertaken in early September to capture those competing in early season regattas, and again in early November. The due date for applications to be considered is 1 November of the current season.
