World Rowing U23 Championships - Day Four
Weather was calm for day four of the 2019 World Rowing U23 Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton, United States. Four New Zealand crews contested A Finals, and two crews contested A/B semi-finals. Men’s Double Scull (BM2x) - A/B Semi-Final Jack Lopas and Ollie Maclean placed first in their men’s double scull A/B semi-final and move to the A Final. Lopas and Maclean have recorded the fastest times for heats and A/B semi-finals. Lightweight Men’s Double Scull (BLM2x) - A/B Semi-Final Isaac Everitt and Chris Stockley placed fourth in their lightweight men’s double scull A/B semi-final and move to the B Final. Women’s Pair (BW2-) - A Final Ruby Willis and Grace Holland placed sixth in the women’s pair A Final. Women’s Quad (BW4x) - A Final Laura Glen, Katherine Lush, Kathryn Glen and Veronica Wall placed fifth in the women’s quad A Final. Men’s Coxed Four (BM4+) - A Final In a very tight race Angus Macfarlane, Luca Kirwan, Blake Bradshaw, Flynn Watson and coxswain Natalie Bocock placed fourth in the men’s coxed four A Final, 0.8 seconds off third place and only 1.4 seconds off first place. Men’s Quad (BM4x) - A Final George Howat, Ben Kirsop, Mark Taylor and Jonathan Kumarich placed sixth in the men’s quad A Final. Tomorrow will see the men’s four and men’s double scull contest A Finals, and the women’s four and lightweight men’s double scull contesting B Finals.
