Under 21s Ready for Round Two on Home Waters
The second leg of the 2017 Under 21 Trans-Tasman Regatta begun this morning with the New Zealand team racing on home waters. The event at Karapiro follows the first leg held in Penrith, Australia, in June where Australia took an early lead in the points.
The kiwi crews look set to turn things around with many strong performancse in the heats this morning, taking wins in five of the eight boat classes raced.
The men's and women's coxless pairs, men's and women's lightweight singles sculls, and the men's heavyweight single scull took top honors and will be gunning to hold these positions this afternoon in the finals.

Points for racing will be awarded in the finals as follows:
1. 1st - 6 points, 2nd - 4 points, 3rd - 2 points, 4th - 1 point for W1x, M1x, W2-, M2-
2. 1st - 6 points, 2nd - 4 points for LM2x, LW2x, M4-, W4-, M8+, W8+
3. 1st - 2 points and 2nd - 1 point for LW1x, LM1x, MixL2x
