We are seeking either an experienced contracted Head Rowing Coach, tasked to plan and lead coaching delivery of the rowing program in school terms 1, 3 and 4 (fixed term contract, non-teaching role) OR a qualified teacher who the experience, skills and ability to operate in both a reduced teaching load and a Head Rowing Coach role (permanent full time role).

As the Head Rowing Coach, the primary objective of this role is to manage and execute the selection, planning and coordination of on water and off water rowing activities for all members within the Rowing program. Supported by the Head of Rowing (Chris Goudie), Director of Sport (Mike Anderson) and Head of Coach Development (Natalie Milicich) this is a unique opportunity to build on a strong legacy on developing young people through the utilisation of substantial onsite rowing facilities, allowing direct water access, supporting athletic development coaches and a strong established coaching team.

Key skills and experiences:

  • The Head Coach and the Head of Rowing will action a plan to further improve the standards of our rowing. Continue to build on the culture of expectation, high standards and raise the profile within the college.
  • Standardise the SKC coaching approach, without seeking to infringe on any individual coaching style. Model and lead coaches through use of the same set of drills, commands, etc so that the athletes will move seamlessly between crews, boats and squads.

  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
