The Club is keen to secure the services of a Head Coach to overview our Club Crews to NZ Championships and School Athletes to the NZ Secondary Schools Championships in 2021, and beyond.
Currently the Club supports Whanganui High School (currently 30 athletes with a further 20 eager to join as novices) as well as Nga Tawa Diocesan School athletes, and also have a modest number of Club rowers.
We also have a number of Masters Rowers who are self-managing and do not require direct coaching however some co-ordination of plant and equipment is necessary with this group.
Description of the role: Leading a team of volunteer coaches, the expectations of the Head Coach would be to support the development and realisation of the individual athletes and crews to reach their potential.
Hours per week required: As a guideline, up to 36-40 hours per week during season and up to 25 hours per week during off season, however considerable flexibility can be agreed with the appointee.
