Cashmere High School is a state coeducational school with a roll of 2000, located in Cashmere, Christchurch. The school established rowing in 2012 and has a growing rowing program involving students (approx. 30) from novice, U15 to U18 grade. Cashmere Rowing has a strong foundation, active committee and a supportive principal all keen to see Cashmere as a successful rowing school.
Cashmere High School is affiliated to Canterbury Rowing Club which provides the base from which the majority of our training occurs. We are starting to obtain our own rowing plant and currently have 5 boats and oars. Our plan is to continue to build on this over the coming years. Our season starts in September and will run till April.
We are currently seeking coaches to continue to build on our strong foundation that we have built up over the last few years.
We are seeking to recruit one or two paid Coaches to compliment our rowing program. A key role for this person will be motivating and inspiring our rowers to be the best they can be. We see the successful applicants will have rowing experience either as a coach or experienced rower with a strong technical background and a desire to move into coaching. They will also have excellent communication skills and work in a way that is consistent with the core values of Cashmere High School. As part of the role they will be called upon to coach novice / junior or senior crews, as well as males and females.
The successful applicants will be required to attend regattas, training camps, and plan, supervise and run a training programme. Food, travel and accommodation for regattas and training camp will be covered by the Cashmere High School Rowing.
