Head Coach Auckland Grammar School
Auckland Grammar School is a leading state school located in central Auckland that has a celebrated sporting culture and, with over 2,500 students, is the largest single-sex boys school in the country. Auckland Grammar is looking to appoint a Head Coach of Rowing that will lead the schools rowing programme on and off the water alongside a Master in Charge of Rowing, support staff and the Rowing Club Committee.
The Auckland Grammar Rowing team has come off the back of a successful season and Maadi Cup securing medals across the age groups including the fastest eight in the North Island. We are looking to progress our success even further both in terms of performance on-water and helping our young men to thrive and learn off the water. The key focus of this role will be the development of a performance plan for both athlete and coaching team, management of day-to-day trainings and instilling a lively, encompassing and unbeatable team culture.
The successful applicant of this full-time position will need to be; well organised and timely; understand “The Grammar Way” and personify the School Values; have the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range personalities and stakeholders; be motivated and bring the best out in our students by demonstrating high levels of commitment, attitude, presentation, and show enthusiasm toward the School and rowing programme. Our ideal candidate will either be a registered teacher who is passionate about rowing, or someone who is an exceptional leader who has proven experience coaching rowing at school or representative level.
