Founded in 1874 the North Shore Rowing Club is one of the country’s oldest and one of the largest, catering for rowing for all ages.
As the only rowing club on Auckland’s North Shore, NSRC serves as the regional rowing provider for both North Shore City and Rodney District, serving a population of over 300,000 people.
NSRC’s clubhouse and main boatshed is on the shores of Lake Pupuke, a small volcanic lake in Takapuna. The lake is used extensively by junior squads, masters and for small boat training. Long distance training is undertaken by senior squads at the club’s Rame Rd, Greenhithe base a short drive from Lake Pupuke.
NSRC’s purpose is “to provide rowing experiences that challenge, educate and enhance, resulting in an organisation recognised for its inclusiveness and success.” On water success at NZ Championship and Secondary School Championship is a primary goal for the club.
