Second day of heats for Kiwi crews at the 2018 World Rowing Championships

Three New Zealand crews raced today with two crews advancing direct to semi-finals.


W4- Heat

After an impressive start from the United States, Great Britain and China, the New Zealand Women’s Four of Ellie Jeurissen, Georgia Perry, Phoebe Spoors and Ruby Tew surged in their last 500, placing third and securing the final qualifying spot in their heat. The crew progress straight to the event’s semi-final.

W2X Heat

World Champions Olivia Loe and Brooke Donoghue are representing New Zealand after winning gold in the Women’s Double Sculls at 2018 World Rowing Cup III. Loe and Donoghue were the fastest qualifying crew, comfortably winning their heat in 06:52 after maintaining a clear lead for the majority of the race.

W1X Heat

In a competitive heat including Switzerland’s World Champion, Hannah Osborne placed third in her heat in a time of 07:54 and moves on to the event’s repechage.
