2018 Rocket Foods New Zealand Rowing Championships

Tuesday 13 February will see the start of the 2018 Rocket Foods New Zealand Rowing Championships, being raced over 5 days at Lake Karapiro. The regatta will see 786 competitiors from 40 Clubs, including four from overseas, across 71 events from Novice to Premier.

This years regatta sees the introduction of two new awards for the winners of Senior grade events. A Senior Title Holder blazer pin to winning athletes and a Senior Title Holder pennant to winning club’s at the 2018 Rocket Foods National Rowing Championships. These awards are to provide recognition for senior rowers and their clubs and identify them as the best in the country.

Another change this year is the Boss Rooster is now awarded to the winner of the Men's Premier Coxless four. The same rules apply - rowers can only be from the same club, no composites or RPC crews. This change has seen 10 crews enter the event this year.

The regatta will begin on Tuesday morning with heats, followed by semi-finals and finals on Friday and Saturday.
