2011 World Rowing Championships - Bronze, women's quad
In 2016 Sarah Gray competed in the women's quad at the Final Qualification regatta in Lucerne. The crew finished third, and missed out on qualifying for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games by just three seconds. In 2015 Sarah raced the quad at the World Championships finishing 6th with the same crew make up as in 2014 where they finished 5th.
Sarah made her New Zealand debut in the quadruple scull at the Junior Rowing World Championships in 2008 in Linz, securing a bronze medal. She progressed to the Under 23 women’s quadruple scull in 2010 and into the senior women’s boat in 2011.
She secured a third place finish at the World Cup regatta in Hamburg before taking a bronze medal at the World Rowing Championships in Bled, securing Olympic qualification. She secured two bronze medals in World Cup regattas in the boat in 2011 as well. The Quad then went onto to come 7th at the London Olympic Games after missing out on the Olympic final due to an oar breakage. Sarah was selected into the women's quad in 2013 and again in 2014. In 2014 the quad won bronze at the world cups in Aiguebelette and Lucerne.
Sarah is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Business Studies degree majoring in Economics through Massey University.
